Politie-Intimidatie. Er gebeurt iets heel griezeligs in Nederland
Er is iets heel griezeligs aan de gang in Nederland. Dat wij geleidelijk aan in een totalitaire 'democratie' wegzinken wordt steeds zichtbaarder. Daarbij speelt de politie een centrale rol, zoals ik enkele malen eerder merkte toen ik zag wat voor een excessief geweld de sterke arm inzet toepast zodra burgers tegen de covid-maatregelen protesteren. Zowel in Rotterdam, Den Haag en Amsterdam is sprake geweest van wat vroeger een politierel heette, chaos als gevolg van politie-geweld, waarvan ik als journalist eind jaren zeventig van nabij getuige was. Dankzij de sociale advocatuur en enkele hervormingsgezinde journalisten werden de politie-excessen soms nog enigszins in toom gehouden. Maar sinds een jaar of vijftien is er weer een lichting politieagenten bij gekomen die zich weinig gelegen laat liggen aan democratische tot stand gekomen wetten. Ze schoppen en slaan erop los zodra een slachtoffer dat op de grond ligt niet snel genoeg kan wegkomen. Het demonstreert dezelfde mentaliteit die de nationaal-socialistische knokploegen in het interbellum toonden, zonder dat de overheid ingreep. Aan het einde van de middag moest ik nog een boodschap doen in het centrum van Amsterdam, waar ik woon. Op de Dam zag ik een groep demonstranten en veel politiemensen. Het betrof hier een bijeenkomst om te protesteren tegen de covid-politiek van het demissionaire kabinet. Als journalist ging ik even kijken, en nam enkele foto's van de opgetrommelde politie.
Omdat de sterke arm in rellen-outfit tamelijk intimiderend voor het Koninklijk Paleis stond nam ik enkele foto's. Ineens sprak onderstaande politieman mij aan met de vraag waarom ik foto's nam. Ik antwoordde dat ik journalist was, stelde mij voor als Stan van Houcke, en dat wanneer er veel politie in de publieke ruimte staat dit opmerkelijk is, zeker wanneer alles ook nog uiterst rustig verloopt. Dat antwoord beviel de man niet, want hij merkte op: 'o, je komt hier naartoe om vanavond met je pikkie te spelen terwijl je de foto's bekijkt.' Ik attendeerde de ambtenaar in functie dat hij tegen een 74-jarige man sprak, een Amsterdamse belastingbetalende burger. Ik haalde mijn camera weer te voorschijn, maar voordat ik een portret van hem kon maken draaide hij zich snel om, want hij bleek ineens veel minder dapper te zijn. Ik vertelde hem dat hij zich walgelijk gedroeg. Hij verdween snel.
Toen hij terugliep naar het ME-busje waarin hij vervoerd was, volgde ik hem en vroeg de andere agenten wie de commandant was, zodat ik bij hem een klacht kon uiten. Geen van de manschappen was bereid dit te vertellen. Daarop nam ik een foto van zowel het kenteken als het nummer van de bus. Hun argument om zo grof te zijn was dat ik niet vooraf had gevraagd of ik gemaskerde agenten kon fotograferen. Toen ik hen erop wees dat dit niet hoeft in de openbare ruimte zwegen ze.
Zoals ik zei: er is iets heel griezeligs aan de gang in Nederland. Wij staan aan de vooravond van een fascistoïde reagerend technocratie. Kijk uit, u bent gewaarschuwd. U leeft in een land waarin politie en justitie, het trampersoneel en de NS meewerkten aan de deportatie van 75 procent van de joodse Nederlanders, dat is procentueel twee keer zoveel als uit België, en drie keer meer dan uit Frankrijk. En geen enkele autoriteit voelt zich vandaag de dag nog verantwoordelijk voor wat dan ook. U staat alleen tegenover een machtige staat, gesteund door collaborateurs.

Something very creepy is going on in the Netherlands. The fact that we are gradually sinking into a totalitarian 'democracy' is becoming increasingly visible. The police play a central role in this, as I noticed a few times before when I saw the excessive use of force by the strong arm as soon as citizens protest against the covid measures. In Rotterdam, The Hague and Amsterdam there was talk of what used to be called a police riot, chaos as a result of police violence, which I, as a journalist, witnessed closely in the late 1970s. Thanks to the social advocacy and some reformist journalists, the police excesses were sometimes kept in check. But in the past fifteen years or so, a new batch of police officers has been added who do not care much about democratically passed laws. They kick and punch as soon as a victim lying on the ground can't get away fast enough. It demonstrates the same mentality that the National Socialist thugs showed in the interwar period, without government intervention. At the end of the afternoon I had to run an errand in the center of Amsterdam, where I live. On Dam Square I saw a group of demonstrators and many police officers. This was a meeting to protest against the covid policy of the outgoing cabinet. As a journalist I went to have a look, and took some pictures of the gathered police.
Because the strong arm in riot outfit stood quite intimidating in front of the Royal Palace, I took some pictures. Suddenly the police officer below addressed me with the question why I was taking pictures. I replied that I was a journalist, introduced myself as Stan van Houcke, and that when there are a lot of police in public space, this is remarkable, especially when everything is also extremely quiet. The man didn't like the answer, as he commented, "Oh, you're coming here to play with your prick tonight while looking at the pictures." I pointed out to the official in office that he was speaking to a 74-year-old man, a tax-paying citizen of Amsterdam. I took out my camera again, but before I could take a portrait of him, he quickly turned around, suddenly appearing to be much less brave. I told him he was behaving disgustingly. He quickly disappeared.
As he walked back to the police van he had been transported in, I followed him and asked the other officers who the commander was so that I could make a complaint to him. None of the men was willing to tell. Then I took a picture of both the license plate and the number of the bus. Their argument for being so rude was that I hadn't asked beforehand if I could photograph masked officers. When I pointed out to them that this is not necessary in public spaces, they were silent.
As I said, there is something very creepy going on in the Netherlands. We are on the cusp of a fascist-reactive technocracy. Watch out, you've been warned. You live in a country in which the police and the judiciary, the tram staff and the NS cooperated in the deportation of 75 percent of the Jewish Dutch, which is twice as much as from Belgium, and three times more than from France. And no authority today feels responsible for anything. You stand alone against a powerful state, backed by collaborators.

Op 19 januari 2023 voerde Kamerlid Gideon van Meijeren namens Forum voor Democratie het woord tijdens het debat over de staat van de rechtsstaat. Van Meijeren constateert dat men in Nederland niet meer leeft in een rechtsstaat, maar in een staat van ongekend onrecht. Als voorbeeld hiervan noemt hij Het verhaal van Lisa dat is uitgezonden op de radio (HUMAN/VPRO) in het programma Argos. Het is schokkend om te horen wat er in haar zaak allemaal is misgegaan; zo heeft een Haagse rechter zich over haar zaak gebogen, die zich eigenlijk had moeten verschonen aangezien hij goed bevriend was met een van de vermeende daders. Dit verhaal staat niet op zichzelf. Nadat onderzoeksplatform Argos een uitzending wijdde aan het verhaal van Lisa, ontving het tientallen soortgelijke verhalen.
