A London Evening Standard article quotes vascular surgeon Tahir Hussain, who works at a London hospital. He sees a significant increase in the number of vascular disorders caused by thrombosis.
There are many more young patients in need of medical care being admitted today than before the pandemic. Hussain said the cases are a direct result of the stress and anxiety caused by "post-pandemic stress disorder."
According to him, the fact that people die at home from a pulmonary embolism or a heart attack is because they go into self-isolation and do not seek medical help.
