Het neerbuigende woord 'wit' in plaats van 'blank' is een aantal jaren geleden door de politiek correcte taalcommissie van de NOS ingevoerd, waarna het door bijna alle NL media is overgenomen. De Volkskrant meldde zelfs dat het woord 'blank' besmet is met het koloniale verleden.
