Записанный в течение июня-июля 1971 года “To The Highest Bidder” стал значительной вехой в карьере голландского квартета. С момента выпуска “Present From Nancy” прошло не так уж много времени, однако за истекший его период парни успели дать серию концертов, засветиться на телевидении и почувствовать пьянящий вкус публичных выступлений. По настоянию руководства лейбла “Polydor” выходу пластинки предшествовала сингл-версия, составленная из двух песен — «A Girl Named You» и «Missing Link». Не сказать, чтобы группу радовал подобный расклад, но продюсеры денег на ветер не бросали: реализованные приличным тиражом миньоны подогрели интерес растущей армии поклонников “Supersister” к их второй полнометражной работе. ”To The Highest Bidder” явился впечатляющей демонстрацией инструментальных возможностей повзрослевшей четверки. Хронометраж открывающей диск «A Girl Named You» по отношению к сингловому варианту был увеличен на несколько порядков. Recorded during June-July 1971, "To The Highest Bidder" became a milestone in the career of the Dutch quartet. Not much time has passed since the release of “Present From Nancy”, however, over the past period, the guys managed to give a series of concerts, light up on television and feel the heady taste of public performances. At the insistence of the management of the label "Polydor" the release of the disc was preceded by a single version, composed of two songs - "A Girl Named You" and "Missing Link". Not to say that the group was pleased with such a situation, but the producers did not throw money down the drain: the minions sold in a decent circulation fueled the interest of the growing army of “Supersister” fans in their second full-length work. ”To The Highest Bidder” was an impressive demonstration of the instrumental possibilities of the grown-up foursome. The timing of the opening disc "A Girl Named You" in relation to the single version was increased by several orders of magnitude. The three-minute composition in the original, through the efforts of the musicians, turned into an epic piece that was a reference for early European progressive music…
