'the day of Christ' is the day on which the RAPTURE will happen and 'departing' is the RAPTURE and 'a falling away' (KJV) is the effect of the rapture among left behind believers
We all need to get saved from having to spend our eternity in God's lake of fire, because that's a fate we ALL deserve.
So get SAVED and believe that God LOVES us so MUCH that He manifested Himself on earth as the Lord JESUS Christ who shed His sinless blood for the forgiveness of our sins, who was buried and rose from the dead, three days later, 1 Corinthians 15:1-4.
If you believe this you're not only saved but sealed with the Holy Spirit and rapture-ready.

Glad that you appreciated the documentary brother. I appreciate the way you direct people to salvation in Jesus. But I will say that hell is not forever. The Bible teaches that the wicked will burn to ashes and cease to exist.
When it says that the wicked shall be tormented 'for ever and ever' in Revelation 20:10 it may sound like eternal torment. But we cannot use one scripture against another. The Bible says that the wicked shall 'be as though they had not been' and that Satan and all the wicked will be consumed to ashes one day:
“For evildoers shall be cut off; but those that wait upon the Lord, they shall inherit the earth. For yet a little while, and the wicked shall not be; yea, thou shalt diligently consider his place, and it shall not be. But the meek shall inherit the earth; and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace." (Psalm 37:9-11)
“For yet a little while, and the wicked shall perish, and the enemies of the Lord shall be as the fat of lambs; they shall consume; into smoke shall they consume away. ” Psalm 37:20.
There are many other verses which state the same thing. We cannot conclude that the scripture contradicts itself so we must find harmony. The verse previous to Revelation 20:10 shows harmony with the verses quoted above:
Rev 20:9 And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them.
DeleteTherefore, the wicked do not suffer eternally in torments, but are eventually 'devoured' by the fire that comes from God. Below is a verse that uses the phrase 'for ever and ever' but cannot be concluded to mean for eternity. It is in context of 'the day of the LORD'S vengeance at the end of the world:
Isa 34:8 For it is the day of the LORD'S vengeance, and the year of recompences for the controversy of Zion.
Isa 34:9 And the streams thereof shall be turned into pitch, and the dust thereof into brimstone, and the land thereof shall become burning pitch.
Isa 34:10 It shall not be quenched night nor day; the smoke thereof shall go up for ever : from generation to generation it shall lie waste; none shall pass through it for ever and ever.
The very next chapter shows that the sentence pronounced over the land above, that was described as 'for ever and ever' will eventually cease.
Isa 35:1 The wilderness and the solitary place shall be glad for them; and the desert shall rejoice, and blossom as the rose.
Isa 35:2 It shall blossom abundantly, and rejoice even with joy and singing: the glory of Lebanon shall be given unto it, the excellency of Carmel and Sharon, they shall see the glory of the LORD, and the excellency of our God.
...
Isa 35:7 And the parched ground shall become a pool, and the thirsty land springs of water: in the habitation of dragons, where each lay, shall be grass with reeds and rushes.
So when we read such phrases concerning the punishment of the wicked, we must realise that what is meant is that there will be a complete destruction; their death will be 'eternal' and there is no return from it. They will burn, but eventually the flames will consume them to ashes. Sodom and Gomorrha are suffering the vengeance of 'eternal fire' but they are not burning today. Those cities are nothing but ashes that we may observe as God's eternal vengeance upon them.
Jud 1:7 Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.

People who believe in Annihilationism love this verse in the KJV because ANNIHILATION, which is UNBIBLICAL, is also a PUNISHMENT.
But they HATE the word PAIN!
Because the word PAIN can ONLY mean ONE thing: ETERNAL TORMENT.

@Hans S The best way to settle what the word actually means when we have an issue is not to go to English or Dutch translations but to the source language (Greek). The root word of that disputed word in Matthew 25:46 I pasted below from Strong's concordance:
kolazō
kol-ad'-zo
From κόλος kolos (dwarf); properly to curtail, that is, (figuratively) to chastise (or reserve for infliction): - punish.
Regardless, I shared several verse that show that the wicked burn to ashes and east to exist (and there are many more). Eternal torment is a Catholic teaching developed by their revered father, Augustine of Hippo. Besides all of the heresy Augustine taught like eternal torment, predestination, purgatory, that unbaptised infants went to hell... he murdered hundreds if not thousands of christians in Britain because they wouldn't bow to the pope.

My third 'baptismal name is Christiaan (Christian in English) named after my late uncle Chris, and Hans is from Johannes, say Yohannes, and that derives from the Hebrew name Yochanan, meaning YAH = I AM is merciful.
We don't have to wait to be saved, because The Gospel of JESUS through Paul says this:

I am not saved from an eternal non-existence.
When I was an atheist I didn't even believe in the existence of God, the devil and the supernatural and after death I believed there was nothing.
I did acknowledge that a historical person lived named Jesus Christ, but he died and end of story.
How did God change my mind?
I was listening to the song Mr. Universe of Ian Gillan (look it up) at the end of 1980 when I was close to 21 and I started to feel VERY desperate and I was sure I was lost and I couldn't stop crying. I didn't believe in heaven and hell, but I knew I would stay in this state of mind FOREVER and there was NO HOPE!
Who did this to me?
The devil?
I didn't believe in the existence of this character and I know now he doesn't care about me, even though I liked bands like Black Sabbath, Judas Priest and Van Halen with songs like 'Running with the devil'.
I believed in all kinds of things that are not Biblical and that was of course due to my unsaved state of mind. Of course I believed in the globe earth and most of the lies of Satan and his Jesuits, like the 'Big Bang' THEORY. That's what made me an atheist and I didn't want to have anything to do with Christianity and 'Christians'.
What happened next is that ALL OF A SUDDEN, after what seemed to be an eternity my mood changed and a beautiful voice spoke to me saying 'Hans, there are two things you can do: committing suicide or start reading the Bible'. I thought 'THIS IS GOD!'.
After that I could no longer deny His existence and I decided to buy myself a New Testament in contemporary Dutch translated from contemporary English, because I couldn't read a proper Bible.
I read the four Gospels and I remembered the stories I heard at the Protestant kindergarten I attended when the pretty teacher could read so well aloud from it.
Back then I was a believer and my heroes where Samson and JESUS, and David was cool too.

After reading the four Gospels I started to read the book of Acts and then I got confused, because now it was about Peter and Paul and I was only interested in JESUS.
I had no contact with fellow believers and nobody could teach me what this was all about so I became disappointed in God and I was running with the devil again.
But I could no longer deny God's existence and neither the existence of the devil, and I wasn't an atheist anymore. But I wanted to be in control and I didn't trust God anymore.
Then after a little over three years this happened to me again in January 1984 and all of a sudden I felt VERY desperate and I knew I was lost forever and there was no escape.
And then that same beautiful voice spoke to me again telling me the same words as at the end of 1980.
And again I knew 'THIS IS GOD' and this time I had a witness: my mother, who totally couldn't understand what happened to her son.
So I decided to buy myself a real Bible, though not the best possible Dutch translation, but back then it was the best option and it contained a lot of extra information and this became my study Bible that I would use the next 30 years.
Like so many fellow believers I mixed the Kingdom Gospel for Israel (Matthew, Mark, Luke and John) with the Gospel of Grace by JESUS through Paul, because I was totally ignorant about it, until in the early summer of 2015 when I discovered this article: Israel's Kingdom Gospel and Our Grace Gospel by Matthew McGee (look it up).
After I had read this article I was convinced that all this time I believed in the WRONG Gospel and that the ONLY saving Gospel for us is 1 Corinthians 15:1-4.
Nobody had taught me that before.
Did it get me saved?
Not yet, because I still had to learn some things: I already believed in the geo-centric model in 2013, but I still believed the earth is a globe.
On October 2016 I became convinced the earth is flat when I watched the video Scientific EVIDENCE of a Flat Earth. I renamed it into Scientific EVIDENCE of a DIFFERENT Earth and you can watch it on my channel.
The song 'Child in Time' of Deep Purple was my favorite song during my time as an unbeliever and this song did the 'trick' in combination with what I saw.
So I became a flat earther, but I found out that there are many different flat earthers and I even discovered an ATHEIST flat earther.....yeah!
Most flat earthers believe in the wrong Gospel and I met a lot of hostility when I confronted them with that, but I have a few friends who agree with and of of course my BEST FRIEND, the Lord JESUS.
Chris, at the Final Judgment EVERY person that ever lived will be resurrected from death (the realm of the dead, aka 'hell') and this can only be done in a SUPERNATURAL way!
So they will be there with SUPERNATURAL BODIES that cannot be destroyed, because it's a SPIRITUAL phenomenon and the lake of fire is also NOT a 'normal' earthly fire.
It's SUPERNATURAL and initially made for the supernatural fallen angel Satan, with his former names 'morning star', 'son of the dawn', 'light bearer' = Lucifer in Latin.
JESUS said that in heaven there will be no marriage because they will be like the angels who don't marry and who are not created to procreate, which makes the 'book of Enoch' a fantasy and that fallen angels had sex in Genesis 6, generating the 'giants' (tyrants is another option according to the Geneva Bible) impossible.
DeleteThe Lord JESUS appointed Paul as our ONLY apostle (of the gentiles) and 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 is not Paul's Gospel but the Gospel of JESUS Christ in this dispensation of Grace.
After the rapture the Gospel of the Kingdom for Israel will come into effect AGAIN and the Body of Christ will be removed from earth to be with JESUS forever.
I got saved when I finally believed in the Biblical doctrine of 'once saved, always saved' and that was in January 2017.

@Hans S My name is Chris. I know Strongs is not infallible, but the best way to check doctrine is to compare scripture with scripture anyway, gather verses from all over the Bible 'here a little there a little' -which I have tried to do on this point.
Where does to say that there can be no non-existence in the Bible? Natural Immortality of the soul is another lie that originated from the serpent in the garden of Eden, who said 'ye shall not surely die'. God had said 'ye shall surely die' if you sin, and He didn't just mean temporally. Death is the cessation of life, not endless burning.
When the Bible says that the wicked 'shall not be' and compares it to the meek inheriting the earth, that sounds exactly like non existence for the wicked to me.
I will be saved by God's grace brother.
