Understanding the Book of Revelation

Nice illustration of the LORD JESUS in Heaven with the seven stars and seven candlesticks = Jewish assemblies in west Asia Minor, nowadays west Turkey, in Revelation 1-3 and these assemblies no longer exist.

Understanding the Book of Revelation

Introduction

Revelation is a confusing book to most people despite the many commentaries written. The reason most commentaries fail to enlighten the book’s contents is because they violate one or more of the three basic principles of sound biblical interpretation. These are the following: 1) acceptance of the Scriptures as God-breathed (θεόπνευστος), 2) correct placement of the text within the framework of God’s progressive revelation, and 3) sound and consistent hermeneutic or interpretative method.

The first word of the book is “revelation” (ἀποκάλυψις)–hence its title. The word means to “unveil,” or “reveal.” The first phrase of the book is (Ἀποκάλυψις Ἰησοῦ Χριστοῦ) “Revelation of Jesus Christ.” The “revelation of Jesus Christ” should be interpreted as both a subjective and an objective genitive. The book reveals Jesus Christ, the God of the Bible, in His role during the Tribulation and as King of Kings (subjective genitive) and is the revelation from Jesus about the events that will transpire during the Tribulation and afterwards (objective genitive).

God wishes us to understand His Word (cf. Revelation 1.3). The goal of this study is to reveal to whom the book was written and the purpose of the book.

The Bride of Christ

The Bride of Christ

Introduction
Most churches in Christendom teach the Church is the “bride of Christ.” But the phrase “bride of Christ” does not occur in the Bible. Furthermore, the imagery of the Church as bride is thin at best. The goal of this study is to examine whether the teaching that the Church, the body of Christ, is the bride of Christ has Biblical merit.

The Bride in the Old Testament

In the Old Testament, the idea of Israel as the “wife” of God is developed. Though Israel was “married” to God she proved an unfaithful spouse. The nation’s unfaithfulness was expressed as spiritual adultery: it deserted Him for false gods, e.g., Baal, Asherah, Molech, Dagon, etc. Despite these failures, God declared the nation would return to Him, that they would become what He had purposed for them, and that He would fulfill His covenant promises to them. According to God’s promise, the entire nation would become priests (Exodus 19.6) and a faithful wife. With this in mind, Isaiah wrote:
“Fear not, for you will not be put to shame; and do not feel humiliated, for you will not be disgraced; but you will forget the shame of your youth, and the reproach of your widowhood you will remember no more. “For your husband is your Maker, whose name is the LORD of hosts; and your Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel, who is called the God of all the earth. “For the LORD has called you, like a wife forsaken and grieved in spirit, even like a wife of one’s youth when she is rejected,” says your God. “For a brief moment I forsook you, but with great compassion I will gather you. “In an outburst of anger I hid My face from you for a moment, but with everlasting lovingkindness I will have compassion on you,” says the LORD your Redeemer (Isaiah 54.4-8).
1 For Zion’s sake I will not keep silent, and for Jerusalem’s sake I will not keep quiet, until her righteousness goes forth like brightness, and her salvation like a torch that is burning. 2 The nations will see your righteousness, and all kings your glory; and you will be called by a new name which the mouth of the Lord will designate. 3 You will also be a crown of beauty in the hand of the Lord, and a royal diadem in the hand of your God. 4 It will no longer be said to you, “Forsaken,” nor to your land will it any longer be said, “Desolate”; but you will be called, “My delight is in her,” and your land, “Married”; for the Lord delights in you, and to Him your land will be married. 5 For as a young man marries a virgin, so your sons will marry you; and as the bridegroom rejoices over the bride, so your God will rejoice over you (Isaiah 62.1-5).
Jeremiah wrote:
“Return, faithless people,” declares the LORD, “for I am your husband. I will choose you—one from a town and two from a clan—and bring you to Zion (Jeremiah 3.14).
31 “Behold, days are coming,” declares the LORD, “when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah, 32 not like the covenant which I made with their fathers in the day I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt, My covenant which they broke, although I was a husband to them,” declares the LORD. 33 “But this is the covenant which I will make with the house of Israel after those days,” declares the LORD, “I will put My law within them and on their heart I will write it; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people (Jeremiah 31.31-33).
God used the prophet Hosea’s personal life as an object lesson to instruct idolatrous Israel. To present His case, God told Hosea to marry an idolatrous woman,1 to represent Israel’s faithlessness in serving other gods. Hosea had three children by his wife, Gomer. Their names depicted God’s judgment of the nation. The first child, a son, was named Jezreel (God scatters). God judged (scattered) the northern kingdom with the Assyrian invasion (722 B.C.). The second child was a daughter named Lo-ruhama (not pitied) and the third child, a son, was named Lo-ammi (not my people). But God’s disfavor would be temporary. He promised that the nation would repent of its unfaithfulness and return to Him. Hosea wrote:
14 “Therefore, behold, I will allure her, bring her into the wilderness and speak kindly to her. 15 “Then I will give her her vineyards from there, and the valley of Achor as a door of hope. And she will sing there as in the days of her youth, as in the day when she came up from the land of Egypt. 16 “It will come about in that day,” declares the LORD, “That you will call Me Ishi and will no longer call Me Baali. 17 “For I will remove the names of the Baals from her mouth, so that they will be mentioned by their names no more. 18 “In that day I will also make a covenant for them with the beasts of the field, the birds of the sky and the creeping things of the ground. And I will abolish the bow, the sword and war from the land, and will make them lie down in safety. 19 “I will betroth you to Me forever; Yes, I will betroth you to Me in righteousness and in justice, in lovingkindness and in compassion, 20 And I will betroth you to Me in faithfulness. Then you will know the LORD (Hosea 2.14-20).
In this tender passage, God is seen as a courting lover. He “allures” the object of His love and speaks kindly to her. The passage speaks of a refreshed relationship in which His wife (Israel) will call Him  אִישִׁי “my husband,” “my man” (Ishi) instead of בַּעְלִי “my Lord.” Baal (בַּעַל) was one of the false gods Israel discovered when they came into the land of Canaan (Numbers 22.41; Judges 2.13). In the prophecy of this restored relationship, in which God will put His Spirit into the nation (Jeremiah 31.31-40), the animal kingdom will also be at peace (Isaiah 11.6-9) and war will be no more (Isaiah 2.1-4). This renewed betrothal will be eternal and Israel will know the Lord–the One True God.2

The Bride in Revelation

The book of Revelation reads like an Old Testament book. And for good reason. Most of its symbols and imagery are found in the prophets. To a discerning reader, it should be clear that Jesus’ messages to the assemblies (ἐκκλησία) in Revelation 2-3 were not Christian, i.e., Pauline churches. The language the Lord used towards them has no correspondence to the language or the concepts Paul had received and communicated to Christian churches. John wrote to these seven Jewish assemblies to encourage them in the tribulation they were experiencing (cf. Revelation 1.9). Of the seven cities Jesus mentioned, only three are found elsewhere in the Bible: Ephesus (Acts 18.19, 21, 24, 19.1, 17, 26, 35, 20.16, 17; 1 Corinthians 15.32, 16.8, Ephesians 1.1, 1 Timothy 1.3; 2 Timothy 1.18, 4.12), Thyatira (Acts 16.14), and Laodicea (Colossians 2.1, 4.13, 15-16; 1 Timothy 6.21). We have no information about Smyrna, Pergamon, Sardis, or Philadelphia. The events of Revelation remain future. Those who have attempted to make church history correspond with the messages to these churches (historicists–see below example) or worse, have tried to fit the events into a pre-70 A.D. timeframe (preterists), have replaced sound exegesis with fantasy.

The character of these assemblies is Jewish. No Church, i.e., body of Christ, doctrine is present in them. The Lord’s message to them is wholly different from the language He gave to Paul for the body of Christ. No hint of the gospel or the doctrines of grace may be found in Jesus’ words to these assemblies. Jesus’ refrain is “he who has an ear, let him hear” and His command is to persevere and endure. None of this is present in Paul. The warnings Jesus gave the assemblies echo His warnings to the Twelve on the Mount of Olives. In that address, He warned them not to be deceived and to endure to the end (Matthew 24.4, 11, 24, 13). The great temptation that will confront Israel, as well as the world, during the period of time foretold by Revelation, will be to accept a false Messiah. This will involve the worship of Satan, the beast (Satan’s man, the Antichrist), the Antichrist’s image, and the taking of his mark (Revelation 13.4, 8, 15, 16-17). Jesus’ refrain to the seven assemblies is repeated in Revelation 13.9. In Revelation 14.9-11, God’s angel warned of the consequences of submitting to the temptation. Revelation 14.12 describes the “patience,” “perseverance,” or “endurance” (ὑπομονή) Jesus described in the Jewish assemblies in Revelation 2.3, 19, 3.10. During this period of time salvation is possible only through endurance (Matthew 24.13). Jesus’ words about salvation during this period are as straightforward as words can be: only by enduring to the end, i.e., the end of one’s life (martyrdom) or until He returns is salvation possible.

Since the book is primarily about Israel and reads like the Old Testament, one conclusion remains: that is what it is. The bride of Revelation 19 is Israel, not the Church, the body of Christ, since the Church is nowhere in the book. John wrote:
Let us rejoice and be glad and give the glory to Him, for the marriage of the Lamb has come and His bride has made herself ready.” It was given to her to clothe herself in fine linen, bright and clean; for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints. then he *said to me, “Write, ‘Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb’” (Revelation 19.7-9).
In the marriage of the Lamb, we read that the bride has made herself ready. Does this sound like the Church, the body of Christ? Paul declared members of the body of Christ have been made complete in Christ (ἐστὲ ἐν αὐτῷ πεπληρωμένοι, Colossians 2.10). The Church needs no “preparation.” We are complete in Him! No, the bride here is Israel and the “marriage of the Lamb” is the reconciliation of Israel with God which the prophets foretold.

In Revelation 21, John described a new heaven and new earth (Revelation 21.1) to replace the old heaven and earth which had departed (ἀπέρχομαι). Along with the new heaven and earth is the new Jerusalem. It comes down from heaven onto the new earth (Revelation 21.2). John described the city as a bride adorned for her husband. In Revelation 21.9, one of the seven angels of the seven bowls showed John the bride, called the wife of the Lamb. This was the new Jerusalem. Again, everything is Jewish. The city has twelve gates with the names of the twelve tribes of Israel written on them (Revelation 21.12). The twelve foundation stones have the names of the twelve apostles (Revelation 21.14; cf. Matthew 19.28). Nothing of the Church is here.

Israel had both an earthly and a heavenly calling. They were called out from among the nations of the earth and given earthly promises, e.g., a kingdom and preeminence among the nations (Deuteronomy 28.1, 13). But they had a heavenly calling also, described in Hebrews 3.1 that began with Abraham, cf. Hebrews 11.8-10. Abraham anticipated (ἐκδέχομαι) a heavenly city. How much he knew of it is unknown. But he looked for a heavenly city. The new Jerusalem of Revelation 21 was that city.

The first two callings pertain to Israel. The third calling is for the Church, the body of Christ (Ephesians 1.18; 2 Timothy 1.9). God’s promises to the Church are wholly heavenly, not earthly (Ephesians 1.3, 2.6; Philippians 3.20).

Paul and the Bride of Christ?

Paul taught that the Church was the body of Christ (Ephesians 1.22-23; Colossians 1.18, 24) and that believers become members of His body through the baptism of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 12.13). This revelation was one of the “secrets” (μυστήριον) the glorified Lord revealed to Paul alone. Paul was the only writer of Scripture who taught that the Church was the body of Christ. He declared that before him this truth was not known (Ephesians 3.3-7).

We have established that the Scriptures teach that the Church is the body of Christ. How is it most of Christendom teaches the Church is the bride of Christ? Two passages have been used to make this argument. They are the following:

For I am jealous for you with a godly jealousy; for I betrothed you to one husband, so that to Christ I might present you as a pure virgin.
Read out of context, this passage may appear to support the idea that the Church is the bride of Christ. But the verses that follow correct such wandering. Paul continued,
But I am afraid that, as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, your minds will be led astray from the simplicity and purity of devotion to Christ. For if one comes and preaches another Jesus whom we have not preached, or you receive a different spirit which you have not received, or a different gospel which you have not accepted, you bear this beautifully. For I consider myself not in the least inferior to the most eminent apostles. But even if I am unskilled in speech, yet I am not so in knowledge; in fact, in every way we have made this evident to you in all things (2 Corinthians 11.3-6).
Paul’s point was to encourage the Corinthians to remain faithful to Christ and his gospel (1 Corinthians 15.1-4). Paul constantly had to defend his ministry–from both unbelievers and believers. From his words in this passage, he recognized he was not the most polished speaker. But in terms of knowledge, he was far ahead of anyone else: he was God’s apostle to the Gentiles (Romans 11.13). The risen Lord had commissioned him and revealed to him secrets no one else knew.3 Paul’s choice of words to the Corinthians, “present you as a pure virgin” was to illustrate his desire for holy living for these believers, not to teach that the Church is the bride of Christ–any more than Paul taught that he was their mother (Galatians 4.19) or their father (1 Corinthians 4.15).

22 Wives, be subject to your own husbands, as to the Lord. 23 For the husband is the head of the wife, as Christ also is the head of the church, He Himself being the Savior of the body. 24 But as the church is subject to Christ, so also the wives ought to be to their husbands in everything. 25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself up for her, 26 so that He might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, 27 that He might present to Himself the church in all her glory, having no spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but that she would be holy and blameless. 28 So husbands ought also to love their own wives as their own bodies. He who loves his own wife loves himself; 29 for no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as Christ also does the church, 30 because we are members of His body. 31 FOR THIS REASON A MAN SHALL LEAVE HIS FATHER AND MOTHER AND SHALL BE JOINED TO HIS WIFE, AND THE TWO SHALL BECOME ONE FLESH. 32 This mystery is great; but I am speaking with reference to Christ and the church. 33 Nevertheless, each individual among you also is to love his own wife even as himself, and the wife must see to it that she respects her husband.
In the passage above, Paul argued that as a husband is the head of a wife, Christ is the head of the Church. This fit with Paul’s teaching that the Church is the body of Christ with Christ Himself as the Head (Ephesians 1.22; Colossians 1.18). Paul noted that husbands should love their wives as their own bodies (v. 28) because no one ever hated his own flesh (v.29). One nourishes his body and cherishes it (v.29). It is this nourishing and care of a husband for his own body that Paul used to make the analogy regarding Christ’s care for His Church, i.e., His body (v. 29-30). Paul quoted Genesis 2.24, not to make a point about the husband/wife relationship or that the Church is the bride of Christ but to emphasize the unity and care for the body. Paul declared this was a great “secret” (μυστήριον) but that he spoke with reference to Christ and His Church (v. 32).

Since the Church is the body of Christ it means that if Christ is the bridegroom we are part of His groomsmanship. Thus, we are of the bridegroom, not the bride!

Conclusion

Wife and bride are titles that belong to Israel, not the Church. Our title is “the body of Christ.” As the body, we are of the bridegroom, not the bride. If you cannot tell the bridegroom from the bride at a marriage it is going to be a confusing wedding. But God is not the author of confusion (1 Corinthians 14.33). He wishes believers to understand who they are, where they fit in His plan, and what promises belong to them. When we do, we can rejoice in the grace God has given to us and serve and honor Him effectively.

1 Hosea’s wife אֵשֶׁת זְנוּנִים (Hosea 1.2) was most likely an idolater, not a physical prostitute. This is what seems to be indicated in Hosea 2.8, 13, 3.1, 4.12-19, etc. God used Hosea’s personal life to address the spiritual adultery of the nation, their unfaithfulness to God as Israel’s husband.

    1. @Doctrine Yes, no translation is perfect and I'm Dutch
and I can say the same about Dutch translations.
The English translation I prefer is the Geneva Bible 1599, but I will never become a Geneva Bible-onlyist, because this translation is also not perfect.
The Dutch translation I prefer is the Statenvertaling (States translation) and not the revised version, but the original, though I use to revised version to better understand the original.
The Geneva Bible 1599 is also a revised version of the original version from 1560 in older spelling.
I consider the KJV to be the counterfeit of the Geneva Bible 1560 and later versions, which was IMMENSE popular during that time and King James didn't like that at all and not only because of the footnotes but also because of the way the Geneva Bible translated several words and verses from the original manuscripts in Hebrew and Greek.
Yet, the KJV SEEMS to be a lot like the Geneva Bible because the 'translators' of the KJV just copied most of it, but they changed quite a few words and verses.
This article is very informative about it: The Geneva English Bible: The Shocking Truth http://www.tyndale.org/tsj21/daniell.html
      I give another important example:
      Matthew 25:46 1599 Geneva Bible
46 And these shall go into everlasting pain, and the righteous into life eternal.
      The KJV changed it into:
      Matthew 25:46 King James Version
46 And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.
Everlasting pain can only ONE thing and 'everlasting punishment' can ALSO mean annihilationism, which is unbiblical.

Doctrine I just discovered this channel and your website and I am astonished that on your website you link to the nasb modern perversion rather than the KJV. Look up 1 John 5:7 in your nasb and it has been omitted (among many other doctrinal changes). Here's a great chart: https://333wordsofgrace.files.wordpress.com/2014/09/bible-versions-diagram.pdf showing why the KJV is the Bible to use.

The KJV is based upon the Majority Text (MT) but is there are differences between it and the MT. The KJV is a good translation but it is a translation. It is not without error. No translation is without error. The subject of textual criticism is complex and cannot be resolved with facile statements. Some of the readings in the NASB are more correct than what are found in the KJV. One must examine variant readings carefully and not simply depend upon any one translation.

So what you're saying is that you, a man, can decide what it says....in other words you trust yourself, not the inerrant, preserved word of God! You have made yourself the authority. You get to pick and choose. So, ultimately you are the authority, not God, is what you're saying. God gave us an inerrant Bible. https://av1611.com/kjbp/

God has given us His witnesses. The autographs were God-breathed. What we have are copies. In the process of copying errors were made. The KJV is not God-breathed. It is a creation of man. It was written in English. The Scriptures were written in Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek. The KJV has some errors just like every other translation. The KJV only view is a perversion of Dean Burton’s view: “We believe that all the verses in the King James Version belong in the Old and the New Testaments because they represent words we believe were in the original texts, although there might be other renderings from the original languages which could also be acceptable to us today. For an exhaustive study of any of the words or verses in the Bible, we urge the student to return directly to the Traditional Masoretic Hebrew Text and the Traditional Received Greek Text rather than to any other translation for help.” (Dean Burgon Society “Articles of Faith,” November, 1978) .

No one has ever proven that there are errors and contradictions in the KJV. And this is a FABLE: The modern translations are more accurate because they have been translated from older and better manuscripts. And here is another FABLE: The King James Bible cannot be infallible because the translators were only men, and all men are sinners. The human element prevents the KJV from being infallible. Please see this for answers: http://biblebelievers.com/jmelton/fables.html

Here’s one small example: The KJV translated Galatians 3.23: “But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed.” The text does not read, “before faith came” but “before the faith came.” Paul was not writing about the act of believing but what is believed, i.e., his gospel. The second use of τὴν πίστιν they translated correctly as “the faith.” But in the first instance the translators did not translate the definite article. In Greek, the definite article makes a noun definite. In this case, “the faith.” So the translators erred.

I trust the translators of the KJV because they not only were experts in Greek, but they were experts in English. For instance, the KJV was produced during the golden age of English, during Shakespeare’s era and it frequently has a superior rendering of the Greek perfect over the modern translations. For example, in Eph 2:8 the KJV reads "for by grace are ye saved," while many modern translations (e.g., RSV, NASB) have "for by grace you have been saved".The perfect periphrastic construction is most likely intensive. The KJV translators recognized that to translate Eph 2:8 with an English perfect would say nothing about the state resulting from the act of being saved. Many resources that can shed light on textual and translation variants appear in Latin glosses and writings produced over a span of 1000+ years and all the KJV translators were proficient in Latin. You assume the translators made an error. So what does that mean? You have no Bible to trust? You are weakening the faith of some believers. You direct them to the NASB, which is without question corrupt, instead of the KJV.
This website refutes over 150 allegations of errors to show that the KJV is demonstrably inerrant: http://www.kjvtoday.com/home

The KJV translators were fallible men. I have pointed out a translation error. They made many more errors which I could provide. I trust the autographs and the manuscript copies. No translation is perfect. The Ephesians 2.8 passage you cited is also mistranslated. The Greek text includes the definite article and should read, “the grace,” not “grace.” They messed up the rest of the verse also for it should read, “through the faith,” not “through faith.” They erred.

You're caught up in some complicated nonsense which blinds you to God's truth; obviously, since you claim the NASB is to be trusted over the King James Bible. I cannot take you seriously because if you care about God's truth, you would not be promoting modern so-called "bible" versions that you KNOW have tons of mistakes in them.

I’ve never stated the NASB is to be trusted over the KJV. The NASB has errors also. All the translations have errors. Why do you accuse me of something I have never said? I stated the KJV has errors and pointed a few out. If you think the errors I noted are not errors then what you are saying is that the translators are superior to the original text of the authors. Is that your position? Do you believe the KJV translators have given us a Bible that is superior to what Moses or Isaiah or Paul wrote? What the Bible’s authors wrote was God-breathed. Translators translate what the authors have written. They are not authors and the KJV is not God-breathed. If you think it is, then you have a serious theological problem. Unless you understand the distinction between a translator and an author you will remain confused and continue to make inaccurate statements. The manuscript copies give us a Bible that is 98% reliable. We have all the information but do not know what 2% is erroneous. The good news is that the variant readings do not affect any major doctrine. Even when a reading is wrong, other passages correct it. God has provided checks to ensure an accurate Bible.

So you are claiming God did not give us a perfect Bible that we can hold in our hands?! Modern Bible versions certainly do affect major doctrine! If you trust the modern perversions, you have your own theological problem. Which particular Bible would you give to a person who has no "authority" such as yourself around to tell him what it says?

Which is correct, the KJV text or the Received Text/Majority Text? The KJV translated Galatians 3.23: “But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed.” The Greek text does not read, “before faith came” but “before the faith came.” Is the KJV text correct or the Greek text?

Can we be BOTH the Body of Christ and the Bride?

    Will JESUS marry HIMSELF=His Body?
    I say, no.
I believe the saved remnant of Israel is His Bride.
I'm very content to be 'just' a member of the world wide Body of Christ.
In the New Jerusalem only the 12 names of the apostles for the Jews will be commemorated and the 12 names of the tribes of Israel.
The name of OUR apostle Paul won't be commemorated through the News Jerusalem, but of course everybody will know who he is in eternity.
Paul received the honor by JESUS to reveal the MYSTERIOUS Body of Christ.
Before him this was totally unknown.
That will be one of his crowns, so he doesn't need to see his name on the New Jerusalem, and once he persecuted his fellow JEWS who had become believers in the Lord JESUS, so Paul is VERY GLAD JESUS forgave him and turned him into our apostle Paul, the ONLY apostle who called himself the apostle of the GENTILES.
Every time we will meet Paul on the new earth and in the New Jerusalem we will thank JESUS He used Paul to get us saved, and Paul will be very happy with that and we too, and the Lord JESUS will be the happiest of all.

Imagine what the United States will look like post rapture. Bibles will be banned and anybody that claims to be Christian will be arrested and eventually when the man of sin decides that he wants to be worshiped or head cut off, this is when the real persecution begins.. this is only a gut feeling, and I know that there are other brothers and sisters around the world that are suffering for their faith. I'm not speaking for the Western society completely. But I think according to the scriptures and what I read in the book of Revelation, the Christian persecution will be in fruition during this time. Tribulation saints. Could the bride of Christ suffer now? Yes of course. But I don't believe concentration camps are in our future. I believe the rapture is in our future.

The Bride will be the saved remnant of Israel.

This is a DOCTRINE issue. It is interesting to compare... what is said of Israel and Jehovah in the OT, with the Body of Christ. One is A NATION under COVENANT with God... with a priesthood etc... The other is not.

So many different things between the two.. An excellent Bible study to be sure.

It seems pretty cut and dry to me. God the Father is married to Israel under Abraham covenant. And Jesus is married to His bride, the Church. (Will be) I think Pastor Geoff made some excellent scripture references to old Testament Saints even looking to Christ. I'm not attempting to draw him into this conversation. And like you said its an excellent study for sure. Have a blessed night.

How can the Body of Christ (JESUS) be married to JESUS and JESUS and the Father are ONE?

      This is all about JESUS:

Isaiah 9:6 King James Version (KJV)

6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government
shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful,
Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace

'Christians' was a term used by outsiders and being a former atheist I don't like this term, and I never called myself a 'Christian', because so many people call themselves that way who aren't even saved.
I'm a saved follower of Paul on behalf of the Lord JESUS Christ.
Yes, that's much longer than just 'Christian' and that's why I invented the term 'JESUS Christian' because it's all about JESUS and 'Christian' omits the name above all names.
The 'Tribulation Saints' will be in the first place Jews in the land of Israel who will have come to believe that their Messiah (Christ) is indeed Yeshua (JESUS) and furthermore the people during the coming Time of Jacob's Trouble, aka the Great Tribulation (in the first place for Jacob=Israel) all over the world who are currently believers in the Lord Jesus Christ, but who are NOT yet saved, because they believe in the WRONG gospel, which is in most cases a MIXTURE of the Kingdom Gospel for the Jews (Mark, Matthew, Luke and John) and the teachings of Paul (on behalf of JESUS).
SAVED people ONLY follow Paul and his teachings (Romans through Philemon) and from this they read the entire Bible and discern what's meant for them and what not.

    New Matthew Bible

2 We beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and in that we shall assemble unto him, 2 not to be suddenly moved from your mind. And be not troubled, neither by spirit nor by words, nor yet by letter which seems to come from us, as though the day of Christ were at hand. 3 Let no man deceive you by any means. For the Lord comes not unless there come a departing first and that sinful man be revealed – the son of perdition, 4 who is an adversary, and is exalted above all that is called God or that is worshipped, so that he shall sit as God in the temple of God and show himself as God.

1599 Geneva Bible, the true REFORMATION Bible before King James made it MANDOTORY to buy and read the KJV of the ANGLICAN CHURCH and before it was FORBIDDEN to print the Geneva Bible any longer in England.
For this reason the 'Pilgrim Fathers' first fled to the Netherlands that had become PROTESTANT=AGAINST the evil Roman Catholic church, and later a portion of them went back to England and from there to what is now the US, because they didn't want to live in England under the rule of King James, who was from a CATHOLIC background.

1 Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our assembling unto him,

2 That ye be not suddenly moved from your mind, nor troubled neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter, as it were from us, as though the day of Christ were at hand.

3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a departing first, and that that man of sin be disclosed, even the son of perdition.

And again: The 'Day of Christ' is simply the day ON WHICH the RAPTURE will happen.

It has always been my understanding that it is very clear in II THESALONIANS 2: 2-4, that it is saying the rapture will occur after the "falling away", ( the apostasy,), and that it clearly states that the day of the Lord will not occur unless first, the man of sin, ie antichrist is revealed. This leaves me with the understanding that once he shows his face, almost immediately, we are out of here. Not trying to pick a fight here, I just feel without any corrective conviction by the Holy Spirit that this is the correct interpretation.

15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.
16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

I have the Geneva (from Tolle Ledge Press when it was available). I like it. In addition to the Bible being the insensible Word of God, I also get the feeling of holding historical martyrdom in my hands when I open the covers. How many were murdered in early attempts to upset the norm, whether from papal or royal dictates, in bringing the Word to the people in English? Many. Also, in the opening letter 'To The Christian Reader', there is no attempt to appease any earthly ruler. It was addressed directly to the people and there was nothing else. And no ingratiating praise to any royal dignity.

I also have the Authorized KJV; a good bible as well. Like the Vulgate (authorized by Papal authority), the Authorized KJV was authorized by a mere man.

You say " In addition to the Bible being the insensible Word of God"
The Bible that was made in Geneva, due to the persecution of the Roman Catholic church (of Satan) in England was a project of private persons and former Catholics who had become radical Protestants.
The KJV was a STATE project on behalf of King James and the Anglican church.

  3. The 'Pilgrim Fathers' went to what is now the US in order to escape the rule of King James
who forced them to buy and read 'his' Bible, while the Pilgrim Fathers loved their Geneva Bible, which was still the most popular Protestant Bible during that time.
The decline of the Geneva Bible came after it was PROHIBITED by the British authorities to print that excellent Bible any longer in England.
The Dutch Protestants had nothing to do with that and they kept printing the Geneva Bible and those Bibles were brought over to England where they were bought and read.
But eventually the Anglican church managed to get rid of the Geneva Bible and managed to make the KJV the only option.

Geoff, I've heard all those arguments ad nauseam on this site and elsewhere. I read and listen to both sides. Most of the time, I do not insert myself into these arguments since I use the KJV, but as a participant here on this site, I've noted over time, and particularly more recently, the rhetoric is becoming more condemning towards those who are not KJO proponents. How do you think that makes someone feel who says they were saved by another translation? Is God not able to save by His Word someone who is not a KJO adherent? I believe he is. You set the tone here at this site, particularly when you criticize other Bible teachers who use other versions. Dr. Charles Stanley uses the NASV. Would you call him being in doctrinal error? The KJV has been used by very orthodox preachers as well as by heretics. A person cannot be saved apart from the Gospel message, and that is a doctrine that is not limited to the KJV.

09:58I was finally able with this crazy season to finish up my bible studies here on NTEB. i recently listend to the Falling Away study, and i have to say i was dismayed and saddened to hear JDFarag being so beat up. Let me say, i know the man to be a kind, humble, wonderful guy and he has a heart for the unsaved soul. I will admit that i have never listened to his Bible studies, as i only do the ones that Geoff does here, however, i do tune in weekly for JD's prophecy updates which pretty much coincide with what is talked about on NTEB. JD always ends with the ABC's of salvation (and i know people who have gotten saved with that), that our hope in in Jesus Christ, and his pleas for us to help get "people to Jesus and Jesus to people" as quickly as we can. Since the audio played of JD was from several yrs ago, I can only pray that between that time and now, or hopefully in the near future, that JD will have seen the truth of rightly dividing the Word of God

No one "beat up" JD, not in the least. All we simply did was to take an obviously wrong/false teaching that he copied from Andy Woods, and corrected it. I consider JD to be a brother in Christ, and his prophecy updates bless many. But he is not a King James Bible man, and as such, will stray quite often from the doctrinal path, and venture into feelings and opinions. Thanks for writing!

Come on, man. Your KJV Bible is the Ruckman Reference Bible (no need to elaborate on that here at this time); hence, you have strayed quite often from the doctrinal path and missed the mark, and you've been called on it. One thing, Geoff, you could learn from JD Farag is humbleness. People are being saved today who do not own a King James Bible. They've said as much here on this site. "So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it." Isaiah 55:11. God did not put a postscript after those words, "but only if you read the KJ Bible."

I see that Char agrees with you.

You know, Geoffrey this is such a disappointing remark and I thought you were wiser.

I never went to 'church' and after the Lord JESUS rescued me in January 1984 I only had contact with evangelical people from different backgrounds and after the Lord JESUS had rescued me I learned to get along with fellow believers in Him, because I didn't want to have anything to do with them when I was still unrescued and an atheist.

Since the Lord JESUS rescued me in 1984 till I really got SAVED I believed in what most believers do: a mixture of the Kingdom Gospel for Israel with the Gospel of Grace by Paul.

Both Gospels exist on behalf of the Lord JESUS, but He has other plans with His own people and Israel than with the saved members of the Body of Christ.

I already knew from the start that God-the Lord JESUS has two plans: one for Israel and one for His Body of Christ and I already believed from the start in the right pre-tribulation-rapture.

In the early summer of 2015 I discovered an article that changed my life, though it took a few years to let it really sink in, because I had to be reprogrammed: Israel's Kingdom Gospel and Our Grace Gospel
    http://www.matthewmcgee.org...
After this discovery I discovered several Gospel of Grace teachers like Les Feldick and Robert Breaker.
And in particular from Robert I learned the most and especially the important principle of 'once saved, always saved'.
Robert also made video teachings about what he does NOT believe in like Calvinism.
I watched that teaching a few years ago and I agree with him about that subject.
I don't agree with him that the Frenchman Jean Calvin (John Calvin) was only bad, because thanks to him the translators of what later became known as 'the Geneva Bible' were able to find refuge in Geneva, Switzerland to finish the work of William Tyndale who was brutally murdered by the Catholic church, because William had already translated the entire New Testament and several books of the Old Testament before he was killed.

If you're starting to think I'm a Calvinist, then you totally don't know me.
Such a remark is something like 'I'm starting to think you're still a Roman Catholic'.
All the reformers were radical former Catholics!
I identify myself with them because my dad was an atheist but my mom was a (non-practicing) Catholic.
I've never been a Catholic or a Protestant, and as I said before I never went to 'church' before the Lord JESUS rescued me in 1984 when I was 24.
After that I considered myself to be an evangelical believer in the Lord JESUS.
But since I really got saved I consider myself to be a follower of Paul on behalf of the Lord JESUS.
So I only listen to JESUS and Paul.
If people preach something else I don't listen to them.
The Lord JESUS saved the Jewish Roman citizen Saul-Paul and turned him into our apostle for the gentiles, and he's the ONLY apostle for the gentiles.
He saved the 12 Israeli-Jewish disciples and turned them into the apostle for the Jews and Israel.
I love and respect them but they're not my apostles!
I will see them after the Final Judgment on the New Earth and in the New Jerusalem and as we know they will forever be honored by God-the Lord JESUS through the New Jerusalem and also the twelve tribes of Israel.
    No special honor for Paul!
He doesn't need that, because he was already glad he got SAVED!

    1. Suppose the apostle Paul would visit this site: would he tell people that John 3:16 is THE GOSPEL of our ETERNAL SALVATION in this dispensation of GRACE?

I believe he would preach something like this:

The Gospel that SAVES FOREVER from burning forever in the lake of fire, and having been saved through this GOSPEL also makes one RAPTURE-READY!

1 Corinthians 15:1-4 King James Version
      1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you THE GOSPEL which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
2 By which also ye ARE saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
      3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how^ that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures

^through the shed BLOOD of JESUS!

      Romans 5:9 King James Version
9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.

      Ephesians 1:7 King James Version
7 In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace

      Hebrews 9:22
      King James Version
22 And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.

      Ephesians 2:8-9 King James Version
8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.

ONCE SEALED, ALWAYS SEALED for those who ARE SAVED:

      Ephesians 1:13 King James Version
13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise

2 Corinthians 1:22 King James Version
22 Who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts.

    2. JESUS promised us EVERLASTING LIFE:
      John 3:16 King James Version
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

It's ALL about 'I AM SALVATION' 'the ANOINTED ONE' = JESUS the CHRIST according to what our apostle Paul has taught us ON HIS BEHALF in Romans through Philemon.
Read the ENTIRE Bible through (t)his perspective because that's THE GOSPEL OF GRACE by JESUS through Paul.
AFTER the RAPTURE the GOSPEL of the KINGDOM will come into effect AGAIN.
That's NOT for us but for Israel and for everyone who'll be LEFT BEHIND.

Suppose the apostle Paul would visit a prison in Philippi, and just imagine if the jailer there asked him how to get saved. What would Paul say? "And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house." Acts 16:31 (KJB) Funny thing, Acts 16:31 is just about the exact same message found in John 3:16.

Of course it's all about the Lord JESUS Christ and we are saved through faith in what He has DONE for us: the shedding of His innocent blood for the remission of our sins, His burial and resurrection from the dead, three days later.
And that's the Gospel of 1 Corinthians 15:1-4.

I am starting to think you're a Calvinist.

      Delete

  5. The other day Geoffrey told me "I'm starting to think you're a Calvinist".

So this means he thinks the apostle Paul, whom I follow, is a Calvinist too.
I'm not a follower of Geoffrey but a follower of Paul on behalf of the Lord JESUS and this is just a forum on the internet and NOT a Holy gathering of saved believers in the Lord JESUS.
If you think it is than you're badly mistaken because anybody can come here and even people who promote hard porn or the most distorted kind of doctrine.
Geoffrey believes he got saved by John 3:16, and he's a former Catholic, and Paul teaches that the Gospel of our salvation is 1 Corinthians 15:1-4.
Geoffrey is a KJV-onlyist and I'm a BIBLE-ONLYIST which means that I don't consider ANY translation of the original Hebrew and Greek scriptures 100% perfect.
KJV-onlyists believe the KJV is 100% perfect and it's easy to prove that this is simply not true.
Geoffrey believes he lives on a spinning ball earth in 'space' and I know that God-the Lord JESUS created the earth as a stable and stationary platform that is flat on the surface, and round with a dome shaped firmament made of very thick and strong glass -like material and this whole system is standing on at least four pillars and it functions as God's footstool.
I know that the globe earth lie is from Satan and his Jesuits and the Vatican.
Geoffrey believes 'nukes' exist and I know that's a lie.
Geoffrey believes there's a pandemic going on and I know that's a lie.

Geoffrey believes that fallen angels had sexual intercourse with earthly women in Genesis 6, creating the giants, and I believe this is occult knowledge and totally unbiblical, because first of all God didn't create angels with the possibility to procreate, so they don't have genitals, and secondly if this were true than God would be a very evil person who allowed Satan and the other fallen angels to corrupt humanity in such a way that they could no longer be saved, which is nonsense, because God waited 120 years since Noah started to build the Ark till the Flood to see if the people on earth would repent.
You don't wait that long if you know that it's USELESS if people have become so called mixtures of fallen angels and humans.
He believes that Ezekiel 38/39 are about two separate wars, which is not true.
He believes and teaches that the first three chapters of Revelation are about the Body of Christ which is not Biblical and against the teachings of Paul.
He allows his site to be used by people who promote the Roman Catholic 'Christmas' and he supports a man (KFC) who has predicted several times the day of the rapture which didn't happen, so this is a clear case of false prophecy.
He never corrected KFC on this and if I do I get attacked by other 'nice Christians'.
I've only met a few friendly people here and they are all fellow Biblical flat earthers and I know their first name.
I can agree with some people here who believe also that 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 is the right gospel, but they become hostile toward me when I proclaim the Biblical flat earth truth or the truth about Genesis 6.

And many people are not honest about who they are and they refuse to tell me at least their first name.
In short: time for me to go, because I found no friends here, except a few as I told you.
You're also not my friend because I don't like to be lectured by a woman.
The first Satan follower was a woman: Eve.
This doesn't mean I can't listen to a woman, but I don't like to be lectured by them.
I learned a lot from women, but then they don't lecture me but INFORM me.
There's a big difference between those two.

  6. Matthew McGee and I don't agree with you and neither does God-the Lord JESUS Christ.

God-the Lord JESUS Christ (and I call Him that way because He is GOD) preached the KINGDOM GOSPEL to His OWN people and NOT to the NON-JEWS the GENTILES, and He saved Paul so that He could become the ONLY apostle of the Gentiles and He gave him a SUPER SIMPLE GOSPEL, both for Jews and Gentiles and that's 1 Corinthians 15:1-4.
That's FAR TOO SIMPLE for many people because they want to DO something in order to get saved.
That's OKAY but then they're not saved according the Gospel of Grace and then they get every opportunity to PROVE they can get saved by DOING what JESUS said in the four Gospels of the KINGDOM, and the first thing they MUST DO to get saved is REFUSING the MARK OF THE BEAST, because people who believe in the KINGDOM GOSPEL or in a mixture of the KINGDOM GOSPEL and the GOSPEL OF GRACE are NOT sealed with the HOLY SPIRIT and NOT RAPTURE READY.
So they MUST go through the Time of Jacob's Trouble, because they have chosen to believe what applies to ISRAEL.

You can't get it both ways!

    THE GOSPEL OF SALVATION

Many Modern Christian sects erroneously teach salvation is by something a sinner DOES. They make a person's salvation dependent upon the works of the sinner. But nothing could be further from the truth of God's word. According to the Bible, salvation is by taking what Jesus DID on the cross of Calvary, when he shed his blood to pay for the sins of man. This FINISHED WORK, once and for all, is the only thing that can give man the new birth, forgiveness of sins, and eternal life.

The Bible clearly presents the Gospel in 1 Corinthians 15:1-4:

    1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
    3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

Notice the Gospel is what JESUS DID FOR MAN, and not what MAN CAN DO FOR GOD!

A person is only saved by BELIEVING upon the finished work of Jesus Christ, when he shed his Precious Blood for our sins. This blood atonement was necessary, for without shedding of blood, is no remission (Heb. 9:22). God has always demanded blood for sin. In the Old Testament, God accepted the blood of a lamb. In the New Testament, God accepts the shed blood of Jesus Christ, the LAMB OF GOD, slain for your sins.

The Gospel of 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 has five parts:

    1 Christ died
    2. For our sins
    3. Was buried
    4. Rose Again
    5. According to the Scriptures

An old preacher once said, "YOU CANNOT PREACH THE GOSPEL WITHOUT PREACHING THE BLOOD ATONEMENT OF CHRIST AND YOU CANNOT PREACH THE BLOOD ATONEMENT OF CHRIST WITHOUT PREACHING THE GOSPEL!"

This is absolute Bible truth! For salvation by Jesus Christ's bloody sacrifice on the cross is the only means in which God offers eternal life.

Just as we see the blood of Christ in the five wounds He bear on the cross, so we too see the blood of Jesus in the the five points of the Gospel.

Christ died. Jesus shed every drop of his precious blood on the cross of Calvary, dying in man's place for man's sins. His blood dropped into the ground.

For our sins. The Bible likens sin unto blood in Isaiah 1:18: "Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool." Scarlet and crimson are the color of BLOOD.

    1. Was buried. Jesus Christ was buried in the same ground in which his blood was spilt. When Abel, died, we read the following words in Gen. 4:10, "...the voice of thy brother's blood crieth unto me from the ground." Shed blood speaks to God! Hebrews 12:24 then tell us the following about the blood of Jesus: "And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel." Christ's blood speaks as well!

Rose Again. When Jesus rose again, the Bible tells us Jesus Christ took his blood to heaven, and sprinkled it on the mercy seat there (Heb. 9:12-25), where it's still waiting to wash away the sins of the most vilest sinner! Are you washed in the blood?

According to the Scriptures. The whole Old Testament points to Jesus Christ as the Messiah. He's pictured time and again in all the sacrifices the Jews slaughtered in the temple for the atonement of their sins. When Jesus died on the cross and the sacrificial Lamb of God, shedding his blood, he fulfilled prophecy written of him all throughout the Old Testament.

So there you have it! The BLOOD OF JESUS CHRIST is found all throughout the Gospel. You can't preach the blood, without preaching the Gospel, and you can't preach the Gospel without preaching the Blood. For the Bible clearly teaches salvation is by FAITH, without WORKS (Eph. 2:8,). Faith in what? FAITH IN THE BLOOD OF JESUS CHRIST!

      Romans 3:25-28 make this clear:

      25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;
26 To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.
27 Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith.
28 Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.
To be justified, or saved, a person's faith must be wholly in the shed blood of Jesus Christ. This declares God the Just one. When a sinner is saved, he cannot boast about himself or his works. He'll only brag upon Jesus who saved him from his sins!

    2. Sadly, in our modern age of apostasy, very few who claim to be Christians ever preach the blood of Jesus for salvation. But the simple Bible truth is, YOU CANNOT EVEN BE A CHRISTIAN UNLESS YOU ARE TRUSTING ONLY IN THE SHED BLOOD OF JESUS CHRIST!

For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:” 1 Corinthians 15:3-4 (KJB)

In this verse, Paul is clear that he received the Gospel. Who did he receive it from? The Lord Jesus Christ. For you see, there is only 1 Gospel. Let no man deceive you.

Verily, verily, I say unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord; neither he that is sent greater than he that sent him. John 13:16 This is Jesus speaking so listen, please. Paul was a man whom the Lord Jesus called. Therefore, Paul was a servant of the Lord and states so in his writings.

Paul's gospel was the one given to him by the Lord Jesus. The hyperdispensationalists continually marginalize Jesus's own words by elevating the Apostle Paul above the Lord and are guilty of violating John 13:16. Today's Church has fallen head over heels in love with the Apostle Paul, focusing on Paul's teachings that soften the requirements of costly grace versus the requirements of costly grace which Jesus taught. Either Paul and his Dispensation of Grace applies, or Jesus and His costly grace gospel applies, as Bonhoeffer highlighted.

The modern church has been wooed from its first love for Christ. Mainstream Christian theologians largely defend dismissing Jesus' words as applicable only to a prior dispensation of Law. Sometimes this is called Dispensationalism or Covenant Theology, but it all ends up the same: marginalizing Jesus' words. The hyperdispensationalists go even further by stating Paul is our only authority as a Christian and that only Paul's writings are applicable to the Church. Confusion reigns when one believes there is more than 1 Gospel. You see it here and elsewhere. Time to return to your first love (Revelation 2:4).

"It is better to be divided by truth than to be united in error. It is better to speak the truth that hurts and then heals, than falsehood that comforts and then kills. It is better to be hated for telling the truth than to be loved for telling a lie. It is better to stand alone with the truth, than to be wrong with a multitude. It is better to ultimately succeed with the truth than to temporarily succeed with a lie. There is only one Gospel." ~ Adrian Rogers

  7. The prophetic word is like a computer program that can NEVER be changed!
Satan knows it and his Jesuits too.
And the prophetic word is ENCODED and it can only be DECODED through the HOLY SPIRIT = the Lord JESUS in spiritual capacity, for JESUS is GOD.

And how do we 'get' the Holy Spirit?

By having been SAVED by God-the Lord JESUS!

We all need to get saved from having to spend our eternity in God's lake of fire, because that's a fate we ALL deserve.
So get SAVED and believe that God manifested Himself on earth as the Lord JESUS Christ who shed His sinless blood for the forgiveness of our sins, who was buried and rose from the dead, three days later. 1 Corinthians 15:1-4.
If you believe this you're not only saved but sealed with the Holy Spirit and rapture-ready.
Read your Bible everyday and talk to our creator about everything and make Him your best Friend and share this GOOD NEWS = GOSPEL with others.

PS: so this means that Satan CANNOT decode the prophetic word because he's the fallen angel and former cherub with the beautiful name 'light bearer' = Lucifer in Latin which he doesn't have anymore, because God renamed him into Satan = adversary after his rebellion against God, and he will NEVER understand the Holy Spirit = JESUS in spiritual capacity.

This is about GOD-the LORD JESUS
    Isaiah 9:6
    King James Version

6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor*, THE MIGHTY GOD, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

    *Holy Spirit

    4. The three days and nights that JESUS was in the grave has to do with the 'sign of Jonah'
      :
      Matthew 12:39 1599 Geneva Bible
But he answered and said to them, An evil and adulterous generation seeketh a sign, but no sign shall be given unto it, save that sign of the Prophet Jonah.

      Matthew 16:4 1599 Geneva Bible
The wicked generation, and adulterous seeketh a sign, but there shall no sign be given it, but that sign of the Prophet Jonah: so he left them, and departed.

      Luke 11:29 1599 Geneva Bible
And when the people were gathered thick together, he began to say, This is a wicked generation: they seek a sign, and there shall no sign be given them, but the sign of Jonah the Prophet.

      Luke 11:30 1599 Geneva Bible
For as Jonah was a sign to the Ninevites: so shall also the son of man be to this generation.

While JESUS was physically in the grave He was spiritually in the realm of the dead where He created a place of rest for the righteous dead called 'Paradise'.
This is what He promised to the saved sinner next to him who was also crucified that day.
The other crucified sinner went to the old realm of the dead and he didn't go to 'Paradise'.

We all need to be saved from having to spend our eternity in God's lake of fire, because that's a fate we ALL deserve.
So be SAVED and believe that God LOVES us so MUCH that He manifested Himself on earth as the Lord JESUS Christ who shed His sinless blood for the forgiveness of our sins, who was buried and rose from the dead, three days later, 1 Corinthians 15:1-4.
If you believe this you're not only saved but sealed with the Holy Spirit and rapture-ready.
Read your Bible every day and talk to our creator about everything and make Him your best Friend and share this GOOD NEWS = GOSPEL with others.

  9. While the Bible does teach about the bride of the Lamb, I would have to agree with the Baptist Briders in that I am not the bride, and neither are they.

The covenant marriage language is reserved throughout the Bible to refer to Israel and Jerusalem. The relationship for the saints of this dispensation is that of members of Christ’s body, not as a covenanted wife.

Follow this study through the prophets as God espoused, married, divorced, and promised a future marriage to faithful Israel. Find out the crucial difference between the marriage language for Israel and the great mystery about the church and Christ.

    The BRIDE OF CHRIST
AN ANALYSIS OF OUR RELATIONSHIP WITH CHRIST

“For thy Maker is thine husband; the LORD of hosts is his name; and thy Redeemer the Holy One of Israel; The God of the whole earth shall he be called.”- Isaiah 54:5

    1. A Widely Accepted Doctrine
a.The marriage supper of the Lamb - Revelation 19:6-11, Rev 21:2
b.“Bride of Christ” – the phrase is not in the Bible, but the idea is there.
c.Most every denomination and church makes itself the bride of Christ.
d.Consequences: 1) “married to Jesus” 2) usurps covenant promises 3) diminishes our position
e.Agreement with the (Old Landmark) Baptist Briders: I’m not the Bride, but neither are they.

    2. A Dispensational Problem
    http://a.It results from a failure to rightly divide: covenant/cross, Israel/you, prophecy/mystery.
b.They think Revelation describes us in the headlines – Gal 2:9, Rev 1:6
c.Matt-John are missing the mystery of Christ and the gospel! John 3:29, 4:22, 5:29

    3. Marriage as a Metaphor
a.Created things are used to describe God and our relationship with him (tree, dove, fire)
b.The Body Of Christ is not a woman, God is not my boyfriend, or husband substitute (nuns)
c.Marriage = the act of uniting a man and a woman; legal and spiritual contract
d.The first marriage in Gen 2:23-25

    4. God’s Marriage to Israel
    a.God made a covenant and a promise to Israel – Gen 22:16, Exo 19:5-6, Eze 16:8, 15, 32, 60.
b.God married himself to Israel with the covenants – Jer 2:2-5, 31:31-32.
c.Israel was unfaithful to the covenant and God divorced – Jer 3:8-14, 20-22.
    d.A promise of restoration after the divorce – Hos 1:9, 2:2, 5-8, 11-12, 18-23.
http://e.No rest until Jerusalem is established over all the earth - Isaiah 62:4, 7, 11.
f.God is faithful to keep his covenant with Israel - Isa 54:4-10, 12-14.
g.The re-marriage is complete in the kingdom come: the bride is the city – Rev 21:2, 9-21.
h.Jesus came preaching the coming kingdom: be ready, prepare… Mat 9:15, Mat 25:1-10

    5. Our Position as Members of his Body
a.First, we had no covenants (no marriage, espousal, divorce) given to us – Eph 2:12.
b.God was not obligated to us for a city or earthly dominion, but now there is a mystery…
c.The mystery is about Christ and the church being made one - Eph 5:30-32.
    d.The “one body” is a dispensation of grace doctrine – Eph 2:15-16, 3:6, 4:4-6.
e.We are made one by the cross not a covenant, we are dead to the law – Rom 6:3-4, 7:4.
f.We are not a bride waiting for marriage, but members of his own body by the cross.
g.Israel is waiting for their promise fulfillment, we have a present possession.

  10. Will Jesus be in Heaven and in the New Jerusalem at the Same Time?

“We know that that, as Gentiles, we will be in heaven with our Savior, but our Lord and Savior will also reign in the new Jerusalem. Will He be in both places at the same time?”

In the eternal state, the Lamb will have a throne on the new earth and will reign from the new Jerusalem (Rev. 21:1-3; 22:1-3). At the same time, Christ’s throne in heaven will remain forever (Rev. 4:1-11). But Christ won’t physically sit on either of those thrones at all times. Christ’s thrones in both heaven and earth teach that He reigns over all things in the eternal state. The Body of Christ will reign in Christ from our eternal position in the heavenly places (Eph. 2:6), while believing Israel will reign in Christ from their eternal position on the new earth in the new Jerusalem (Rev. 22:5).

Part of Christ’s loving sacrifice for us is that He is the God-man for eternity, the “one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus” (1 Tim. 2:5). As God, Christ is omnipresent, but as a man, like us, He is in one place at a time. The Lord will not be confined to the earth in the eternal state. But when Christ is on the new earth with Israel, we will still experience the fullness of His indwelling presence as we reign in Christ in the heavenly places (and vice versa for Israel when He is with us in heaven). Our apostle reminds us Gentiles in the Body of Christ that we have the blessing of “Christ in you, the hope of glory” (Col. 1:27). We are in Christ and Christ is in us for all eternity.

    1. We must distinguish between the throne of the Lord JESUS on THIS earth in Jerusalem during the coming Millennium and His throne in the NEW Jerusalem on the NEW earth that will last FOREVER.
